Which sort of ice do I need - crushed ice, icecubes or blockice ?
In principle cooling of beverages is possible with all sorts of ice.
Thereby the cooling happens much quicker than with a normal refrigerator, which extracts the heat by thin air, not by direct contact with massive ice.
Nevertheless there are big differences between the sorts of ice, which should be respected:
Crushed Ice & Icecubes:
- Serves as supplement for beverages (satisfies the strict food-hygienic instructions)
- Crushed ice for cocktails and sparkling wine coolers
- Icecubes for longdrinks and alcohol free beverages
- Not recommended for cooling purposes of bigger quantities of beverages (too fast smelting)
Nevertheless if planned, use isolated boxes
Blockice:
- For exterior cooling purposes of bigger quantities of beverages (draught beer and beverage bottles)
- No supplement for beverages
- Long lasting high cooling capacity and very slow smelting
- Application notes
